more so he tripe with Lucifer. He enjoyed that 24 years but he sympathize
for himself as time coming near. He starts recalling God because he thought may
God can save him. Redemption symbolizes the Christianity. At the end he was
destroyed by satanic god.
In the beginning he is in library and appearing as
knowledgeable man. He has everything except few things which are in God’s
control. He wants to go beyond the limitation. He is in his hubris so even he
doesn’t know what he is speaking.
“What God can hurt me”?
He conditioned that everything is in his hand and therefore
he doesn’t need to afraid by anyone. A good angle and old man persuade him to
prevent from trip but because of hubris he loose his control.
Mephistopheles is a satanic servant. He came from heaven to

“why I am not
out of hell?”
He wants to go out of hell but he can’t so he thinks may Dr.
Faustus can understand him and stay away from hell. He even indirectly try to
realize Dr. Faustus that what you are doing is wrong but Faustus couldn’t
understand. On the other side he wants his companion so he wants to take his
soul.
Mephistopheles went to his god to offer Dr. Faustus’s wish
and came back with positive response. He done everything which he wants to do
and enjoyed 24 years.
However the time is approaching he stars realizing his
guilty. He wants to do everything for preventing
his soul from Lucifer. He confessed his mistake but “time and tide never wait”
so Lucifer and servant came at night sharp 12 o’clock and taken away his body.
Already he was powerful than anyone but he wants to put himself
with God so he destroyed his life. His unlimited desire for knowledge leads him
to the end of his life like Icarus, who is a mythological character in Greek.
He was awarded about flying so his father had advised him to stay far away from
sun but he forget it and in his joy he goes on flying so because of the heat of
sun his wax melt down and he fall in sea and die. It same we find in this play.
“Excessiveness always destroyed power”.
