Dreams are made to be followed.
Life is meant to be lived.
Some books are meant to be read,
Loved and passed on.
-          Panlo Coelho

A short story ‘The Last Leaf’ is written by O’ Henry. It is on psychology that mindsets convert illusion in reality. There is nothing in impossible in this world but mentality of people makes possible to impossible. If a person can depend on leaf which is duplicate than think about dream which is for follow.

Johnsy is suffering from pneumonia. She always seats near the window and looking outside. There is a tree whose leaves are falling one by one. Johnsy’s life is fully depending on that tree. She thinks when the last leaf drops she will too die. Her friend Sue worried about her mentality. She pursued her that it is illusion but Johnsy was not ready to believe.

Sue wants to save the life of Johnsy so she made a plan that she went to Behrman who lives below and he is a great painter. First he can’t believe but then he ready to draw a leaf
.
As sleepless night however sue pursued to Johnsy that it is too late so she should sleep. After she went to bed Behrman starts creating leaf and before down he was successfully made a leaf which resemble as original.

Johncy thinks that because of storm leaf will drop and she will die but when she gets up at morning she found the leaf is still there so her mind is changed and slowly and steadily her health was repairing. She becomes healthy within few days.

The story is simple but its significance is too deep. If a person makes his/her mind in one point than it is too difficult to come out. Our life is depending on our mentality. Johnsy’s life was pessimistic but a artificial leaf works as significance way.

The dream should be high weather we reach or not is another thing but our wish and enthusiasm of doing leads to finish it.
