The black cat

Image result for the black cat“The black cat” is written by Edger Ellen Poe. He is famous for horror, gothic, ghost and suspense that he has used in his short stories. He got fame for his short story like, The Tell Tale Hart, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Cask of Amontillado etc.

The black cat is about the story of a cat named Pluto, whom narrator loves. An unnamed narrator likes to live with pet animal. He has strong feelings for a black cat. The black cat also respect to him. Whenever narrator comes to home, black cat respect him. Once Pluto avoided him so he angry on it and removed one eye form its socate. Afterwards that eye gives hatred for Pluto to narrator. He decided to kill. He hanged Pluto on a tree. He feels better two-three days.

Once he went on his journey and found one cat resemble to Pluto. He decided to bring it to home. His wife still have respect as earlier but she has suspense about black cat that it is may lead them to bad end. Because of her loves towards cat make him act on it. Again he wants to kill cat but his wife came between and she becomes victim. He doesn’t want to tell this to anybody so he decided to build his wife with wall. Everything was all right but he doesn’t sleep fully.

After the death of narrator’s wife police men came to investigate. Police doesn’t seem wrong still the end moment but heart beat reveal the truth and he arrested.

Image result for the black catThis is an allegorical story. Narrator killed cat. Is it the same cat or the ghost of same cat? He found after the murder of cat that his house burnt and one wall still there. The wall was with black cat. It seems cat wants to take revenge and therefore his home destroyed but the cat was not satisfied with this small damage so it distinguishes as ghost and come again in his life. Pluto is responsible for the death of narrator’s wife yet Pluto is not satisfied and so it appear on the day of police arrival so the narrator arrested. The picture came as Pluto sat on lady and seems happy as now his revenge is successfully taken.
